Hello There!
My name is Stefanie Poteet and I am the woman behind the lens of Retro Roadside Photography. In 2008, while on a cross country road trip I stopped to take pictures of some vintage Route 66 motels in the small town of Seligman, AZ. When I got out of the truck, placed theSupai Motel sign square in my viewnder— I fell in love.

Some people might just see a sign, I saw a piece of art with history and a gorgeous sense of style. And in that very first frame, Retro Roadside Photography was born. Since that day I have taken numerous road trips, totaling over 300,000 miles, chasing vintage signs in an attempt to capture and preserve a disappearing culture. In 2014, I embarked on Chasing Neon—a nearly 27,000 miles roadtrip across 48 states to photograph as many signs as possible to continue the Retro Roadside project. Many of the gems that I found along the way you will find in this collection!

Thank you for your interest and support of Retro Roadside Photography.
